Find your ESI ID before anyone asks for it
Every electricity quote in Texas starts with one long number. It's worth knowing where yours is.

What it is
It's your ESI ID, short for Electric Service Identifier. It's printed on your bill, usually 17 or 22 digits, and it belongs to the meter's spot at your address.
Not to you, and not to your supplier. Switch suppliers and it stays the same.
Why it matters
- It's how every supplier and your utility find your location. No ESI ID, no accurate quote.
- Each meter has its own. If you have more than one, you might have more than one contract, with more than one end date.
- Moving or opening a second location? The new address has its own ESI ID.
Today's job
Find it on your latest bill and count how many you have. Write them down with their addresses.

Want a hand?
If you'd rather I find it, send me the bill and I'll walk you through it. In areas with electricity choice.
There's no cost to you. The supplier pays me, and it's built into the rate.
Not cute. Correct.
